How do you apply to work with Sexual Wellbeing Aotearoa?
-
When you first apply for a role, you will be:
- Directed to our recruitment portal
- Asked to create a user profile
Creating your user profile involves:
- Entering your personal details
- Responding to questions
- Uploading your CV
- Uploading a cover letter — telling us why you want to work with us
Once you have submitted your application you will receive an acknowledgement email from us.

Short-listing
-
We will consider your application and create a shortlist of candidates.
If you have been short-listed for a position, you will get a phone call from us. During the phone call, we’ll ask about your experience, and discuss your salary expectations.
After the phone call, we’ll let you know if we want to interview you — we can work out a convenient time to meet in person, at that point.
If you aren’t selected for the initial shortlist, we’ll let you know by email, when the recruitment process has been finalised

Interview
-
We like doing interviews in person, at one of our clinics or offices. Interviews are conducted with two people on our panel.
You can come alone, or bring whānau or a support person with you, to your interview. We want you to do whatever is most comfortable for you.
Before your interview, we’ll send you an email confirming the time and location of your interview. This email includes a position description for the role that you’re interviewing for.
We’ll ask you some questions that’ll help us learn more about your relevant experiences. We might ask you for examples of specific situations you’ve experienced — what happened, what you did, and what you might do differently in the future.

-
Reference checking
-
If you have a successful interview, we’ll contact you and organise a reference check. Let your referees know that they can expect a call from us.
-
-
Offer stage
-
After checking your references, we will get in touch with you.
If we decide to make you an offer of employment, we’ll talk about the details of your offer with you over the phone. After that, you’ll receive an offer of employment letter through our recruitment portal. You’ll be notified via email when your offer of employment letter has arrived.
If we decide not to make you an offer of employment for this position, we’ll still get in touch to provide you feedback that should support you in any future applications you make.
