Fees for New Zealand residents
Our appointments are free for New Zealand residents aged under 22 years.
If we give you a prescription, you may have to pay $5 at a pharmacy for each medicine prescribed to you. There may be an additional charge for some medications. For more information about prescription charges, talk to our Client Contact Centre or your pharmacist.
For some services, like an IUD, you might need more than one appointment. You will need to pay for these appointments if you are aged 22 and over.

Community Services Card holder

If you have a Community Services Card, your appointment will always be $5.
You might also have to pay a $10 dressing fee if you get a contraceptive implant.

Cervical screening
-
The cervical creening programme in Aotearoa is not fully funded in Aotearoa. Te Whatu Ora funds cervical screening for people who are disproportionately affected by cervical cancer:
- People with a cervix 30 years and over who are unscreened — have never had a screening test. This includes people with a cervix aged 70 to 74 years who have never been screened.
- People with a cervix 30 years and over who are under-screened — haven’t had a test in the past five years
- Anyone requiring a follow up
- Māori and Pacific people with a cervix aged 25 to 69 years
- Anyone with a cervix aged 25 to 69 years who has their own Community Services Card

Subsidised health care

If you're eligible for subsidised health care in New Zealand, please bring your documents to your first appointment. This means:
- New Zealand Residents not born in New Zealand: bring a copy of your residency permit.
- If you are in New Zealand on a two-year work visa: bring a copy of your visa.
If you don’t bring these documents to your first appointment, you will have to pay non-resident fees.

HPV vaccination
This requires three appointments for three vaccinations.
New Zealand residents who start the vaccine before their 27th birthday are eligible for free vaccination.

Fees for non-residents
Anyone can come to a Sexual Wellbeing Aotearoa clinic, but if you're not a New Zealand resident, you'll have to pay non-resident fees.
